Pippins Acquired By Yakima group
Local Yakima Families reach an agreement to Acquire the Pippins, Ensuring Continued Legacy of Community Baseball
Yakima, WA – October 10, 2025 – A group of ten families rooted in the Yakima Valley today announced a pending agreement to purchase the Pippins Baseball Club from Pacific Baseball Ventures LLC (PBV). This transition marks an exciting new chapter for the West Coast League team, with both parties committed to upholding the legacy of quality summer baseball and entertainment that has enriched the Yakima Valley community since 2014.
The Pippins were founded in 2013 by a group of committed baseball people and PBV will continue to own and operate the Walla Walla Sweets of the WCL, the Pippins’ sister team. Both groups are eager to carry on the 12-year partnership and tradition between the teams, including the ‘Battle of the Basin’ series each summer. Long-time Pippins GM Jeff Garretson will be working closely with the new owners to assure a smooth transition for Yakima fans.
